Hey, I'm Moses -- the creative mind and heart behind ShotsByMoses
Many Call me Michael and others MJ. I am a photographer based in the DMV area with 5 years’ experience. Photography is more than just a hobby to me. In a world that is so fleeting yet blessed with the gift of men, it is a privilege to capture memorable moments of people whilst putting a smile on their faces. Behind every picture is a story that means different things to different people, a story of love, joy, happiness, comfort, even closeness in some cases. My passion for photography stems from my desire to help people see and appreciate the moments, reminding them that it’s okay to be present in the now, amidst the chaos of the world we live in, joy is closer to you than you think. Matthew 6:30 NIV - If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
Growing up my mother always made me understand that it is honorable to be a person of purpose; To make a positive impact not just in people’s lives but also in their hearts. Shots by Moses is my little way of impacting my world, one smile at a time. I started off being a second shooter for a friend and brother of mine, after years of support from him and my family, I decided to take my passion a step further in 2023. Like they say, “Do it afraid”. So far I have had the privilege of capturing wedding proposals in the US and the UK, Wedding ceremonies, Corporate events, birthday parties, family photoshoots, graduation photoshoots and ceremonies, Birthday photoshoots, fashion photoshoot, Portraits, Baby dedication as well as a one year old photoshoot.
Beyond every achievement there is always more! Just as Moses in the bible was given a mandate to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt, my assignment is to help deliver your Vision. I look forward to creating your story with you and capturing the memorable moments.
